Tracks of Glory Season 1

2 Episodes Drama, Sport

The triumphant true story of two remarkably driven athletes who battle persecution and class discrimination.

Tracks of Glory tells the triumphant true story of two remarkably driven athletes: American Marshall W. ‘Major’ Taylor (Phil Morris), who tackled a world of prejudice and discrimination and Australian battler Don Walker (Cameron Daddo) - both destined to find fame and glory on the international cycling circuit.

In 1903 Australia set out to stage the richest cycling event in the world. When dedicated African-American athlete, ‘Major’ Taylor, arrives to compete he is not only challenged by the looming shadow of the White Australia Policy - barring non-whites from entering the country, but the prejudices of the other competitors - many of whom were his own countrymen.

Joined by poverty-stricken racer Don Walker, who sets out to break his own class distinctions and overcome bias, the two cyclists face an uphill battle to not only prove their respective places on the track but solidify their reputations with a wakeup call to the world. Featuring Robert Vaughn, Richard Roxburgh and Justine Clark, Tracks of Glory is an Australian Logie Award-winning two-part miniseries adapted from Dr Jim Fitzpatrick’s book - a truly inspirational story of perseverance and remarkable sportsmanship.
