The Way
No experience in Tom's illustrious life has prepared him for the untimely death of his adventurous son, Daniel.
Coming to terms with the loss of his son, Daniel (Emilio Estevez), Tom (Martin Sheen) embarks on the grand historical pilgrimage, ‘The Way of St. James’, in order to honour his son and fulfil his last wish to complete the journey.
An inexperienced trekker himself, Tom meets other pilgrims from around the world, also looking for greater meaning in their lives: a Dutchman, a Canadian, and an Irish writer suffering from a bout of writer’s block.
This unlikely quartet of international misfits forge an everlasting bond and allow Tom to discover what it means to be a citizen of the world again, to truly appreciate the remarkable difference between ‘the life we live and the life we choose’.
