A frank portrayal of a year in the life of a divorced mother living in Melbourne.
This is the story of Nora, who is in her early thirties, recently divorced and caring for her thirteen year-old daughter. She is a woman trying to live free of the compromises of conventional domesticity and dependence upon men, yet in spite of this, she is drawn into a dangerously obsessive relationship with an attractive actor addicted to heroin. The story takes place from one summer to the next and explores the changes Nora undergoes in attempting to gain control over her own life.
